There is no use trying…so says Alice
“There is no use trying” said Alice: “one can’t believe impossible things.”I dare say you haven’t had much practise” said the Queen. “When I was your age I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Lewis Carroll from Alice in Wonderland
So, I ask you, what’s your impossible? Mine is my movement, and it’s not that I find it impossible to believe, it’s that so many others do not believe it to be possible. What’s my movement? Teaching a million women how to earn a million dollars by turning their passion into profit. I know it’s possible, I’m proof and so are the many women who are, or have, worked with me in the last four years. Dog groomers, dog walkers, writers, caterers, house cleaners, landscape architects, tutors, bakers….you name it and there’s a way to make a millions dollars in that business. But don’t take my word for it, sign up for a coaching program and, if you haven’t been able to tap into your passion after three months I’ll refund your money, ALL your money, and I’ll even throw in a lottery ticket for you too!

Making my mess my message: introducing Little Miss Fortune
I don’t know about you but I’m old enough, and my daughter is young enough, to remember the children’s book series called “Little Miss..” They had titles such as Little Miss Sunshine, Little Miss Mess, Little Miss Trouble…there was also a boy’s version of the books. They were very popular, simple to read, fun and always had a lesson. Today I am happy to introduce you to Little Miss Fortune. My mentor coach, Suzanne Evans, says make your mess your message so that’s how the name came to be. My mess really and truly is my message: through my own trials, obstacles and huge elephants in the way I managed to get to where I am today. My movement, helping millions make millions, has been created specifically for women 45 and older who want to run out of life before they run out of living. Uncover your passion, turn your passion into profit through a small business, and be in charge of your own retirement, be in control of your financial future: that’s what we’re all about and we’re excited! So far we’ve had many women jump on board through one on one coaching, group coaching, private coaching, forums, blogs and our radio station and there are new millionaire wannabes coming on board every week!Little Miss Fortune is here to answer your questions: any questions you have about small business start up, being stuck, having a dream and not knowing where to start…whatever it is Little Miss Fortune is here for you. Keep it clean please and know, if it’s clean, no question is too stupid, silly, unimportant or irrelevant!
So, what’s your question for Little Miss Fortune?

The Millionaire Next Door, Did you know?
I’m doing some studying this week from the book, the Millionaire next Door, and I’m finding it pretty interesting so far. Did you know that, according to the statistics, most of America’s millionaires are first generation rich. Most people who become millionaires have confidence in their own abilities. They do not spend time worrying about whether or not their parents were wealthy.Only 19% receive any income or wealth of any kind from a trust fund or an estate.
Fewer than 20% inherited 10% or more of their wealth.
More than half never received as much as $1 in inheritance.
Ninety-one % never received, as a gift,as much as $1 of the ownership of a family business.
As a group they feel that their daughters are financially handicapped in comparison to their sons. Men seem to make much more money-even within the same occupational categories. About two thirds are self-employed. Interestingly self-employed people make up less than 20% of the workers in America but account for to-thirds of the millionaires…
Did you know any of this? I have to be honest with you, most of this is new to me and I’m really learning a lot. Being so passionate about what I do, teaching women how to turn their passion into profit so that they can control their financial future, is such a gift for me. I love to teach women how to make money by doing what they love, I love to see women earn a million, or more, and then follow them as they, in turn, teach others how to become independent. I love that women are now learning how to make their own money, to be self-sufficient and self-reliant and sharing their wealth with other women who may not have the ability to move forward on their own…
So, what about you? You ready to tap into your inner millionaire? What’s your passion? What’s your dream? What’s stopping you? Want to be the next millionaire next door? Start right now!

Beach sand, aeronataucial engineers and surfer mom’s prosperity
I love talking to people about helping millions make millions my movement for women over 45 who are in transition. Turning your passion into profit is the way to make sure you’ll be in control of your future and not the banks, stock brokers, financial institutions, your employer, your friends, your spouse/partner/parents/kids/government.
Today was no exception. I was at the beach working on the programs I’m offering starting in February when a woman sat down close by so of course I had to start chatting with her. Turns out she’s trained as an aeronautical engineer, yup one of those NASA people, but she’s a surfer mom instead. Intrigued by the shift in career choice I asked her what motivated her to make that change. Her response was typical of somebody who is doing what their heart calls them to do…”my son loves to surf, I love my son, so it’s a no brainer for me. I didn’t want to spend my time doing something I didn’t love to do after I had my son.” Cool….and you know what else is cool? She’s making plenty of money doing what she loves to do: she supports both herself and her son and is living quite comfortably. As we were talking another woman she knew stepped into our conversation and she’s a boat captain..Talk about girl power taking on a new role: a financial revolt in the making for sure. You know what this NASA turned beach bum mama said to me as I was getting set to go…? “What’s wrong with prosperity? What’s everybody so afraid of? ” And you know what? She has a really really good point…

Parkinson’s, moving on and shaking things up
Wow, it’s been eleven years almost to the day since I wrote an article in the Parkinson Post about my life with Parkinson’s disease. I still have the article, I don’t still have Parkinsons. How is that possible you ask? An error made by a specialist that went undiscovered for six years until a second specialist told me the truth…Having taken meds for six years, losing my relocation
business and completely turning our lives upside down then being told the news that I did not have Pd was disturbing in many ways, however, the bottom line was that my health was actually quite fine. I was reminded of that today when I saw a woman who had stage three PD…you just learn these things, it’s a nasty disease and chronic so it only gets worse. Her’s was on the worse scale, she was in a wheel chair, shaking and unable to move…Once in a while I have a little pity party, I get frustrated that things are not going the way I believe they should (now there’s an ego problem!) and I let it get to me….Well seeing that lovely woman today shook things up for me, that pity party fell apart really quick…Good grief what was I thinking? You know, I’m grateful for having gone through the PD years as I call them, because it forced me to reconsider every aspect of my life. My relationships, my living arrangements, even my career choices. That’s when I decided to become a certified life coach and focus on women over 45 who, like me, find themselves in transition, unsure of what to do, where to turn. I work with women who are ready to turn doing what they love, for me it’s coaching, and start making money with it. Helping millions make millions is my motto and my goal: I’ve started a financial revolution so that women can be in control of their money when they retire and live where they want, do what they want and when they want to…Care to join me?

The Illusion of Entitlement
I’ve been travelling for a few weeks now and have come across many different people who want to hear about helping millions make millions…It’s exciting and fun to talk about,I’m very passionate about the possibility that millions of people will make a million or more by turning their passions into profits. But you know what I’ve noticed and it’s something that is really troubling me. People want to have financially secure futures that’s a truth but they don’t want to do the work, they think they “should” be able to have what they want, when they want it and really don’t understand why they have to work so hard (because you will work hard) to achieve their success….Why do so many people feel they’re entitled to something they don’t want to work for? Here’s what I know for sure: the only thing you are entitled to is how you choose to live your life, how you choose to be you, the rest is all made up. So, you want to be successful? Step in line so do millions of other: the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t is a choice…that’s it.

Dog parks, fish and chips, silver dollars and tv segments
It’s been that kind of day and boy am I grateful. We left early this morning on an adventure that seemed a little silly but hey, that’s what life’s about right? A visit to the doctor, a visit to dear friends whom we hadn’t seen in a while, a chance for the puppies to catch up, literally, with some old friends at the dog park, a lunch of very yummy fish and chips and a visit to a coin collector. We got it all done, and more, and still had time to spare before the day ran out of sunlight so our last venture was a brisk walk around our little neighbourhood with the dogs to see a few friends here. You know what was really neat about today? Well actually everything was really, but the thing I liked the best was the choice I made before I even stepped onto my very chilly wood floor this morning from my warm and cozy bed….I am going to “be” today instead of “do.” I’m going to have fun, I’m not going to have any expectations about how this are “supposed” to happen and I’m just gonna go with the flow. Wow, flow it did.
You know something cool? I have met so many people in the last two years and the connecting factor, every time, has been my dogs. We take them everywhere we go and today as no exception. In fact we planned ahead of time to meet up with a couple whom we had met before and we were meeting at, where else, the dog park. As it turns out I have also added another person to my growing coaching list at the same time and it was because of the connection at the dog park. Who knew? But, you know what? I’ll talk about my work, helpingmillionsmakemillions.com, anywhere, I’m just so passionate about it and I can usually tell when somebody really wants to share something with me. That’s when I take a cue from the dog behaviour, close my mouth, open my ears and listen deeply with sincere interest and compassion. I really do love what I do.
Finished at the dog park I took my husband to a yummy fish and chip joint for lunch, partly because it was his birthday and partly because, hey what the heck why not? They even treated him to a complimentary dessert!
When I finally made it to the home office I had a call waiting for me from a local tv producer. Did I want to work on a show with them talking about coaching starting in the New Year? Seriously? Did I? Um yeah..in fact I had approached them with the idea a couple of months ago so it’s been sitting on the back burner for a little while. The focus is going to be on the helpingmillionsmakemillions.com program so that’s gonna be fun!
Here’s a free coaching tip for you. You know what I learned today, again? Staying present, being instead of doing, listening instead of trying to always say something: those are traits that others seem to be attracted to: people want to be around you: they want to join in and have you share some of that energy and, hey why not? It’s fun, it’s fulfilling and it’s free!
Here’s to your 2011 being your best year ever and if there is a way for me to support you in that progress well just feel free to ask: I’m always willing to share. Living la vida fearless, Jan

Unhappy, diabetic and hungry for sweets
This is a great story about a young kid, he was nine when this first started, and his parent’s desire to let him be “normal” and “happy” as a kid.Joseph was a diabetic and could not eat sweets so his mom and dad created a sugar free cookie for him. He loved it so much he decided to share it with all his friends, diabetic or not, and they liked it so much the family invested all their money into starting Joseph’s cookies..
Joseph and his mom spent weekends demonstrating the products at local stores until they became a hit, so much so, that the company now sells them by the millions. Joseph’s cookies were so successful that, by the time he was 20, Joseph had made his first million.
Way to go Joseph. That, my friends, is the way the cookie crumbles. Joseph\’s cookies
