  • Martin Luther King Jr did not write this.

    Date: 2012.01.16 | Category: Women | Response: 0

We who are in our fifties, the movement begins

I hope you take the time to watch this video, it is my personal plea to all of us..

Today is the birthdate of Martin Luther King Jr. If ever there was a person that believes in his dream, “I have a dream” it was he.

If ever there was a man who could not, would not, take any other path toward equality it was him.

Today I am inspired to continue with my dream of teaching a million women how to make a  million dollars by turning their passion into profit. No over night gimmicks, no make money fast shtick. This is a program that will challenge your beliefs, turn you upside down and inside out and give you the opportunity, finally,to live a truthful life.

Today, as I remember the great and never failing Martin Luther King Jr, I give thanks for his  tenacity, his persistence, his commitment to his bigger picture and I am pressed to move on despite all the naysayers and non believers.

I too have adream…I wish for all women to be empowered, to be equal, to be included in the  financial conversations around the world. Money is power, no doubt, let’s take it back…

My daughter is celebrating a birthday this week…her 28th birthday in this lifetime. I am so eternally grateful to her, for her, to be her mama, mamabliss in action. She, more than any other person on this planet, and I have had many teachers for whom I am grateful, has taught me to open my heart, to share, to love deeply, more deeply than I ever believed I could, to offer and to recieve with grace, the love of another…She, my beloved daughter has taught me all that and more. She is my first born, my only daughter, my heart…

How can I ever say thank you for the gift of her? I have spent many hours pondering that question, how do you show such gratitude and then I realized the best way to do so was to offer out that same grace, that compassion, that joy to others…So I am.

You know I’m a life coach, working with women 45 and older, teaching a million women how to make a million dollars by turning their passion into profit. You probably also know that I believe in the impossible, the big dream only bigger….I’m not a dreamer, I’m a realist who believes…

  • Donald Trump, Oprah and “bama?” What’s a “bama?”

Date: 2011.02.08 | Category: Career Path, Women | Response: 0

Oprah featured Donald Trump and his entire family on her show today. Quite a coup for the lady of daytime television. There was a lot of talk about family and business and merging the two without making frenemies…

Oprah speaks often of her ability to keep her work a separate entity in her life as well, so does her friend Gayle…y’all know Gayle right? The illustrious radio/tv talk show host Gayle King…her new show is done really well by the way.

Bama…what the heck is a “bama?” and why use that word in the same sentence as the Donald and Madam Winfrey….Well Bama is a woman, a small business owner I interviewed in Florida a few weeks ago. She owns a restaurant called PJ’s and they’ve been in business for 26 years. Bama bought the business just as the economy was taking a nose dive, in a tourist town where tourists were no longer traveling…I was curious about her success and today I saw a theme I have always known about but feel it very important to share out with my readers.

Each and every one of those people, the Donald, Oprah, Bama: they all say the same thing when asked “How do you stay focused when things get really tough, and they do get really tough?” They may say it a little differently but the intent is this : “do what you love, you MUST be passionate about what you do to make your profits or, when the going gets tough, you’re not going to want to stick around.” Amen to that one my friends, amen to that one!

The last six weeks of my traveling tour, taking my helping millions make millions tour on the road, has been a great adventure, a great learning time and a dedication and devotion to my mission of teaching a million women how to make a million dollars…After talking to so many people about their businesses, people who have lost their homes, people who cried when they came to see my dogs while I walked the beaches because they had lost their pets when they lost their homes, people who are working for $4.23 an hour!, people who are losing their will to live because they can’t afford their medical treatments….I cannot tell you how committed I am to this work. In this land, in this time of the world, people do not need to be hungry…to be fearful of their financial future and the only reason they are is because they’ve not been given the proper tools. Well folks that’s all gonna change, right here, right now: My small business coaching programs will show you how to uncover your passions and turn them into profits so that you, not the banks, not your boss, not the government, will be in charge of your finances!

There are many options to choose from with my new programs, and, if you say money is what is keeping you from signing up, well we can take care of that for you too…http://womenshealthandwellnesscoach.com/products-page/

Come join in the revolution ladies, the financial revolution! It’s YOUR time.

  • I just lost my job after 20 years, what do I do now?

Date: 2011.01.28 | Category: Career Path, Little Miss Fortune, Women | Response: 0

This note came in today for the new column with Little Miss Fortune. Here’s what she has to say about this.

“Wow, first off let me say I am so sorry to hear that you are now out of work. Very first thing to do is to not panic. Hopefully you’ve got some savings to fall back on for a time. If you qualify, go to the closest unemployment office and register for benefits right away. If you live in Canada you have to do this within thirty days or you may be refused. Don’t wait for a record of employment from your workplace: you can sign on without it. Second: take a few days to give yourself a chance to let this sink in and then get right back at it. Start looking right away BUT if this is really a blessing in disguise as in “I hated my job” take a look at what you love to do, the thing you’d do for free. I can guarantee you there is a way to make that passion a money maker for you. For now, give yourself a chance to breathe, calm down and collect your thoughts.  I wish you much success.”

  • The Millionaire Next Door, Did you know?

    Date: 2011.01.14 | Category: Career Path | Response: 0

I’m doing some studying this week from the book, the Millionaire next Door, and I’m finding it pretty interesting so far. Did you know that, according to the statistics, most of America’s millionaires are first generation rich. Most people who become millionaires have confidence in their own abilities. They do not spend time worrying about whether or not their parents were wealthy.

Only 19% receive any income or wealth of any kind from a trust fund or an estate.

Fewer than 20% inherited 10% or more of their wealth.

More than half never received as much as $1 in inheritance.

Ninety-one % never received, as a gift,as much as $1 of the ownership of a family business.

As a group they feel that their daughters are financially handicapped in comparison to their sons. Men seem to make much more money-even within the same occupational categories. About two thirds are self-employed. Interestingly self-employed people make up less than 20% of the workers in America but account for to-thirds of the millionaires…

Did you know any of this? I have to be honest with you, most of this is new to me and I’m really learning a lot. Being so passionate about what I do, teaching women how to turn their passion into profit so that they can control their financial future, is such a gift for me. I love to teach women how to make money by doing what they love, I love to see women earn a million, or more, and then follow them as they, in turn, teach others how to become independent. I love that women are now learning how to make their own money, to be self-sufficient and self-reliant and sharing their wealth with other women who may not have the ability to move forward on their own…

So, what about you? You ready to tap into your inner millionaire? What’s your passion? What’s your dream? What’s stopping you? Want to be the next millionaire next door? Start right now!

  • The final frontier? Space or feminine financial freedom?

    Date: 2011.01.12 | Category: Career Path | Response: 0

I think space exploration is really really cool. I’m old enough to remember the day the first space craft landed on the moon and Neil Armstrong uttered those words “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” I’m old enough to know that space exploration for some is now a yawn. Then there’s the other final frontier of course, Star Wars and all things related. But wait, if you ask me, and I’m glad you did, there is one other frontier that is really important, attainable even if most people don’t believe it to be true, and worth spending money on: feminine financial freedom. Seriously, think about that for a minute. Women make up more than 50% of the population, we are more likely to outlive our partners, (I know who wants to think about that) we make less money than men , partly because we’ve stayed home to care for children and/or parents and partly because that’s just the way it’s been, women don’t hold many of the upper level career positions, women have lower pension payments and women are not represented evenly in governments at any level…this all leads to the truth that, once a woman retires 54% will be living at the poverty level and the rate continues to climb the older we get…Yikes!

Doesn’t that scare the s*** out of you? It does me. I’ve spent many years caring for my family, I stayed home with my children instead of getting paid at another job, I arranged my schedules so that my partner could always get to his job and if the kids had to be cared for it was me who took the time off. I had several small businesses after working at a bank because I needed the freedom, the result of which was no benefits, no pension and no emergency plan financially.  I’m not willing to head quietly into my retirement years with that kind of knowledge…I’ve always been a trail blazer and an advocate for women and this is no exception My goal, to coach a million women who will make a million dollars and then assist women who cannot afford coaching through my charitable foundation so we’re helping millions more.

How will we do it? Turn your passion into profit: love to cook? Think Paula Dean. Love to decorate? Think Martha Stewart. Love to bake? Think Mrs. Fields. Love to talk? Think Oprah. Love to write? Think J.K. Rowling. Love to sing? Think Susan Boyle…. love current affairs? Think Arianna Huffington….The list is endless and so are the possibilities.

I’m starting a revolution ladies, I’m taking a stand for you, so that YOU don’t wake up at 2am scared to death of  where you’ll be living in the future. I’m taking a stand for you so that you can stay in your comfy home surrounded by the photos of your kids, your favourite pieces of furniture, your garden full of flowers…I’m taking a stand for you ladies: let’s shatter the myth that women don’t know anything about finances, that men are in charge of us, that we can’t take care of ourselves….We can be financially free not financially fearful.

    Come join us won’t you?
